As a technical engineer apprentice I share my time across different teams. I can be: pulling data for the training team; producing/reviewing online training modules for installers; visiting sites and inspecting the quality of installs; providing technical support through the email support team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am thoroughly enjoying my time as an apprentice at Samsung. Although you are faced with challenges and obstacles I feel well supported and encouraged to tackle them and learn with the help of my colleagues. Studying away from the workplace hasn't been as enjoyable or smooth a process.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

New skills I have learnt/developed since starting my apprenticeship: resilience, persistence, patience, written & verbal communication, organization, preparation, confidence etc
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

From a work perspective my apprenticeship has been very well structured at introducing me to new aspects of the business and helping me to develop and learn whilst not feeling rushed or under immense pressure. The college in which i study at for my official qualification is poorly ran and lacks organisation.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive. In particular my line manager and closer team are extremely supportive and helpful and genuinely seem to care about my development which creates a great working environment. The apprenticeship team also host regular check ins and are always available to talk to and help with any obstacles.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

In my particular situation I am taught by 3 teachers and only 1 of them is very supportive and willing to help. The college itself is aware of the ongoing problems however not a great deal has been done to resolve this.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification is assisting my knowledge of the industry that i work within at Samsung and is helping broaden my knowledge and understanding. My second year will translate across into my role even better which i am looking forward to.

Yes
Why?
Because the opportunity to work for a large organization with such high standards is a great environment to learn and develop in regards to your professional career. In addition to this, my team have given me lots of opportunities, resources and time to grow into the business and not feel too overwhelmed
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Samsung Electronics?
Be enthusiastic about the role and just be yourself. Samsung is a unique environment and treat the application process as a two way conversation (show off all your great qualities but also try to find out if Samsung aligns with what you're looking for)
