To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My role provides the opportunity to learn a lot. Learning new technical and soft skills help to build my overall career skillset which is very beneficial. As a junior, I don't have access to heavily contribute on more exciting projects but I'm learning the skills which can help me to contribute later on. The apprenticeship side gives me good exposure to the work of a business analyst which has relevant application in my day to day work. M&G as a company is a great place to work at.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The BPP Business Analysis programme is split into relevant modules, providing a efficient way to manage my learning. Recorded lectures allow me to revisit topics and portfolio submissions enable me to apply and document what I have learnt.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

A good amount. My line manager in particular is very helpful in catering my work towards my apprenticeship. M&G's apprenticeship manager provides monthly catch ups to discuss progress and any potential work blockers. The support received from M&G is good.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A good amount. Similar to M&G, monthly meetings and catch ups are scheduled so out BPP coach can address any concerns I may have. Furthermore, we have access to lecturers and out coaches emails so we can ask for advice or support towards our qualification when needed.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Business analysis blends both technical learning and business knowledge together. Being exposed to both helps when trying to relate information to different parties on both ends of the technical spectrum so when I'm discussing my day to day tech work with non tech individuals, I can cater my responses much more effectively, helping to improve stakeholder communication and boost relationships.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Our tech team has monthly 5 a side football matches. Our department have summer and Christmas socials. We are part of the investment 20/20 program meaning each month or so we can visit other asset management companies and network with young professionals. M&G have individual networks to join also such as Embrace, a multi cultural commitee.
