Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
There was a very clear insight to the firm. The first day of the job was primarily dedicated to introductory talks which provided me with a good insight into the way the business operates, and the culture it tries to create. Furthermore, throughout the week I was then able to sit on department talks which gave an insight into different practice areas. Other than that, the rest of my days were filled completed tasks given to me by my team. The aim was to replicate the tasks undertaken by trainees.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was fantastic to have a clear understanding of all the career opportunities Gateley could provide me with.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I have had exposure to trainee level tasks. This has helped me to further my legal knowledge, as well as develop key legal skills such as drafting, research and proofing. I have also been able to develop through conversations with members of the firm, which have given me an insight into the skills required to succeed in law.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was fantastic. People were very willing to spend time on you, even when very busy. The firm put a great amount of effort into organising social events after work, which provided a great opportunity to really get to know the people at the firm in a informal environment.

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. I felt like a highly-valued member of the team, and got the impression that everyone at the firm really wanted me to have a valuable experience.
