Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
In the Banking and Finance department, the role consists on drafting agreements and deeds of release. Further to this, we did Companies House searches and filled in filing checklists of the background information to either register or release a deed from Companies House.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
At Gateley, everyone is friendly and welcoming allowing you to develop your knowledge of the firm to find out which areas of law you are particularly interested in. We had department talks which was great to provide an overview of the areas and then you could personally reach out to people in the areas which sparked your interest with further questions.

In this role, I have developed my drafting and legal research skills increasing my commerciality. A Vacation Scheme is also a great opportunity to develop your networking skills and get involved with the wider activities of the firm.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Departments can get busy with work but there will always be someone to speak to whether that is a trainee, associate or Partner.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight I have gained over this week at Gateley. It is good to see how a law firm and the different departments operate in practice. Your individual experiences will help in deciding whether the firm is a good fit for you.
