Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each vacation scheme student was assigned to a department where we would work for the week. Within the department I was given four tasks to complete across the week, these were tasks that the trainee in my department had completed recently.
Outside of the department, each team held virtual talks. There was a few social events.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The virtual talks for each department were great as you got to hear about the work that you would undertake within the seat first-hand. Gateley made an effort (rightly so) to show off everything they do in terms of CSR and D&I

100% I have learned so much about banking from my time in the department. The work was challenging but I found it very rewarding when I did the work well.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was really nice! People seemed friendly with one another. One thing I liked was that you couldn't tell what people's job roles were. So for instance it wasn't immediately obvious who was a partner. More impressive was that there were a few times when I thought someone was a solicitor/ partner and they were actually a paralegal or secretary - that just shows how respectful the culture is.
