Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in housekeeping. I clean bedrooms and public areas. I also cover my housekeeping manager two days a week. In these two days I allocate rooms, check bedrooms to make sure they are ready to be sold or checked into. This job requires a really good attention to detail.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is definitely hard but it’s good for someone like me who didn’t know what they wanted to do. It keeps the brain busy.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned how to use the software at work to allocate rooms and learned how to check rooms keys after guests have checked out. I have developed my eye for detail and I have also improved my customer handling skills by interacting with customers every day for a variety of reasons.

It is organised well into different parts. It’s easier to understand.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer with things such as help with my logbook and off the job suggestions.

helps me to understand things better when I get stuck. I like that she sends me reminder emails when a VC or deadline is coming up because I get overwhelmed easily.

It helps a lot because it has taught me more about my job and allows me to support my colleagues more on shift.
