Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am currently working in the Customer Service (CS) Finance team. This position has been very different to my previous rotations in being a lot more reporting and conducting different analysis. At the end of the month, I am involved heavily with the posting of our monthly journals and I also wok quite a lot on the different dashboards within our team. I am entrusted to do quite a lot of analysis into things like our spare parts consumption or cost of goods sold for the period, which I find very interesting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme. You are entrusted from the very start to work on various projects and day to day tasks. I believe is the best way to learn a new role is by getting stuck in and being hands on which is definitely the case with this programme. No question is a stupid question and everyone is willing to help with workload or any questions you are stuck on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As mentioned previously I have developed some strong analytical skills within this position as I am constantly working with large amounts of data to provide answers to my manager. As month end is a busy time for me, I have also enhanced my time management and organisational skills to juggle workload. Finally I am constantly developing my digitalisation skills through learning new tools regularly.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I would say it is extremely well organised. I have regular check in calls with both my line manager and team manager where we discuss my progress with exams and study in one call and everyday workload/tasks in the other. I get a day a week for study which is extremely useful with my CIMA exams.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is extremely supportive. As mentioned they are regularly checking in on progress, they allow you time off to study and they really do care about your well being during exam seasons as they know that they can be stressful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider support is good but could be improved slightly. We have a regular call with our talent coach every 8 weeks that is extremely helpful. 8 weeks is a perfect length of time between calls at the start, but one improvement could be them being more regular as you get towards the end of your scheme. Apart from this the lessons they provide are excellent! The case study lessons and resources are super useful in having mock exams that are actually marked by tutors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It definitely helps. A lot of the content that you cover (especially with CIMA) is what you use on a day to day basis within your finance role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have graduate meet ups every few months where we do some different activities off site. We have a Christmas party at the end of the year and different sports teams/events for you to get involved with.
