Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I was given the tools and support to learn and develop my hard and soft skills.
I improved my Excel and other microsoft application abilities, and learned how to operate new training platforms.
With support from the intern programmes training sessions I also now feel significantly more confident in my time management, organisation, assertiveness, communication, leadership and presentation skills.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received full support, but most importantly this was only when needed.
As a baseline we had a fantastic training course with multiple sessions which provided us with critical skills that helped make the day to day manageable. My team and others in the business were always ready to help with anything I needed and would take time out of their day to teach larger concepts if requested.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was fantastic from day one. Everyone was ready to support one another and the atmosphere was always friendly and lively which made it even more exciting to come into work every day. There was a strong respect for diversity, equity and inclusion with frequent events so no matter who you were you knew you were more than welcome. Siemens Healthineers also understood the importance of team rapport and provided us with social events, such as Christmas dinners. There were also plenty of employee driven initiatives that you could choose to join at your liking.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I adored my time with Siemens Healthineers and would do it all over again if I could! It has given me a level of confidence for the world of employment that I really didn’t expect. I would always strongly recommend this company to others. Additionally, at my specific branch we were unique in having a large group of interns which attributed to the overall experience and isn’t something you see often.

What advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers
Be open and honest in your assessment day, remember that they do not expect to find someone who knows it all already; they are looking for someone who has the right attitude to learning and knows there is no shame in asking for help. Show your personality!
I would say to be prepared for real responsibility, your work will be critical to business functions but the trust and respect they give you to do this means you will know that your contribution is meaningful.
