Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Advice notes for clients, cost budgets for claimant on planning and contract dispute.
Collating evidence of misleading statements for 3 manufacturers, regards to cladding for Grenfell.
Looking at Practice direction PD51U research task to find whether it's a solicitors duty to tale original documents from their client, also the time frame.
Client meetings.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It has clarified for myself how much I want to be within Gateley as a firm because of the wide variety of services the business provides and also the opportunities available. The excitement of sitting on a wide variety of seats has excited me even more. Also the business in terms of people are the most down to earth, lovely people that I have met from the bottom to the top.

- Researching has certainly developed and my ability to research and where to look to find information
- I have learnt a lot about construction in such a short amount of time and can say that I've developed skills and knowledge within that area of law
- Attending client meetings has also taught me how to behave, what to say, how to engage with a client on both a personal but also professional level

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
As soon as I was introduced into the firm on the first day I really understood how important the culture is in this firm. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and made me feel right at easy.
Also, the work events meeting all the trainees after work etc showed me how good the relationships are between these people and the fact they made me feel as if I had been at the firm for years.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The work was amazing, some parts were easier than others but I have been challenged the whole week which I have enjoyed. The surrounding team in construction were beyond helpful at all times and very nice and have made my week a lot easier within the firm, reinforcing the companies friendly nature ad culture . It's gone beyond my expectations and would return next week if it was a possible.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Gateley
Come with the right attitude and personality that fits Gateley Legal. Also, a can do attitude goes a long way at Gateley Legal, you are thrown right into the deep end as a vacation schemer and given important work and work to help others around you. I think the main thing is showing determination to do well and giving things a go which is well respected here at the firm.
