Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

When at the salon I’m expected to greet clients wash hair clean up and generally be an overall help to the people around me, whether it’s with clients or my coworkers,
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

There isn’t a day where I’m not enjoying myself at the academy, whether I mess up or am doing everthing perfectly im keen on learning and absorbing any knowledge I can while training, I enjoy the people that come in the teachers as well as my classmates
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yeah so many things, haircutting, colour doing blow drys and hair up, all things I would have never been able to do without the help from my training. I’ve also become a lot more confident and friendly with the public as my social skills have really grown while working
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I’d say very , there’s been instances where we haven’t learnt certain things soon enough or been pushed to go to more advanced techniques but we always seem to get everthing done eventually and any time not learning somthing new is mastering somthing already been taught
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The people at the academy are very encouraging and enthusiastic with your learning almost everyone is happy to help and go out of their way to make sure you feel confident in whatever your doing, at the salon I know there’s people I can go to if need be
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Like my earlier answers there’s a lot of help going towards my learning as well as then really going out their way to do so
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Everyone at the academy is always pushing their students to go further and be better no matter how small or unimportant it might be, they really drill that perfectionist mentality which is important for the job we do
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There’s a lot of Toni and guy events that are always a lot of fun, watching the runways makes me want to be at that level were I can be able to do that, I always will go out with freinds from my class after academy as well

Would you recommend Toni & Guy to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If hairdressings what you like there will never be a situation where Toni and guy shouldn’t be brought up, the people events and the way they teach is beyond any other apprenticeship I’d go for, and being qualified with Toni and guy is the gold standard of hairdressing
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Toni & Guy?
Be yourself, always be looking for work and show people you want it more then anyone else, because doing an apprenticeship is about learning for yourself and not just passing by, you need to be a hardworker and confident all skins that’ll be taught to you regardless
