Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My day to day tasks varied significantly within my placement. Normally, I would be responsible for report and dashboard building, CRM admin processes, troubleshooting tasks within our sales team, data reporting and visualisation tasks, and research projects.
Daily you will work closely with the sales team and ensure processes are efficient and data is up to date for practical analysis.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Straight from the beginning of my placement I was instantly thrown straight into the deep end being given responsibility of tasks I would have to manage and learn as I go along. However, you were never alone, there was always someone to contact if you felt stuck or unsure to give guidance. As time went on and you learnt more you were trusted with being at the forefront of entire projects.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, within my job role skills are constantly being developed and you are constantly learning. While at Egress I have gained a lot of confidence, increased communication skills, problem solving skills, and overall gained knowledge of the working world. Working on placement at Egress will definitely drive your skills due to the amount of responsibility you have and varying projects you will have to manage.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Support and guidance was always there from the start of my placement to the end. I always had someone to contact if I felt stuck or had questions to ask. Not only that but at Egress they always mentioned 'No stupid questions' making you feel a bit relieved if you think your question may be a bit stupid. I had many catch up meetings with my manager where I could ask questions and get support.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Amazing. As soon as I joined I had people welcoming me and chatting with me. Everyone was friendly, always up for a chat, and ready give support in any way. In addition, everyone makes you feel involved when there were company events such as going out for drinks or grabbing some food.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Couldn't have asked for a better placement, I had so much fun and gained a lot in terms of knowledge, experience, and skill development. The social opportunities were amazing and well put together to make sure there was something for everybody. It really felt amazing to be a part of Egress.

What advice would you give to others applying to Egress
Prepare for all the stages you will have to face going through the application process. Do a lot of research on the job role and company to see if it is the right fit for you. Otherwise be yourself and it will prove if you are right for the job.
