Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I manage the online operation at ASDA, leading a team to ensure efficient order picking, timely deliveries, and excellent customer service. My daily tasks include team coordination, stock management, performance analysis and liaising with store and regional teams to improve productivity, customer satisfaction and compliance across operational process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the programme, Its been engaging, practical, and relevant to my role. I have had the chance to apply learning directly to real challenges, develop professionally, and collaborate with others across the business. Its helped me grow in confidence and capability while making a real impact in my store.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have significantly developed my leadership, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills. I have also learned to manage high volume operations using systems like power bi, while enhancing team development, compliance understanding, and decision making. The apprenticeship has strengthened my ability to lead strategically and adapt to fast-paced retail environments.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured, with clear milestones and classes. The sessions at the university are scheduled well during the off peak period to accommodate work-study balance. The course has a good balance of practical and academic work, making it easier to stay on track while applying new knowledge directly in my role at store.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received excellent support from my employer throughout the programme. My manager and colleagues are always available to offer guidance, and I am encouraged to balance learning with daily responsibilities. Regular check-ins, feedback sessions and time allocated for study have made it easier to stay focused and progress confidently.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received strong support from my training provider, including regular one to one sessions, constructive feedback, and timely guidance on assignments. They have been responsive and flexible, helping me manager study alongside work. The structured resources and access to tutors have made progressing through the qualification much more manageable and rewarding.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has enhanced my performance by strengthening my strategic thinking, leadership skills, and understanding of professional processes. Its helped me apply theory to practice, especially in areas like data analysis, team development, and project management, making me more confident and effective in leading improvements within a fast-paced retail environment.
