Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an operations apprentice, I am learning the build from start to finish. In a day, I will work on my placement, and learn how it contributes to the build of our final product. A day to day basis consists of shadowing and then as you get more experienced, doing jobs under supervision.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I came into this apprenticeship with no exististing skills or knowldge aside from hobby-level. I have learned masses from manual tool handling to computer skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

three month placements with a meeting at the start and at the end, college one day a week. The programme runs smoothly and I found I had been here a year before I'd even realised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot, they are always reinforcing that they are here for us and i do believe they are.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

college struggles with coordination and support. We didn't have a teacher for a long part of one of our units, and had to learn the entire thing in a short amount of time. Still, we learned it, so that can speak to their ability to educate.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel there are aspects from college that I take into work, mainly things to do with electrics. I understand my college cant tender to the work, however I feel there are certain units that would help with the job more.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty, there are clubs and groups that stem from this workplace.

Would you recommend MBDA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend MBDA to a friend because this is a great job with great people working around you. The dynamic working scheme helps so much with maintaining a level of freedom and getting out of regimentation of strict working hours.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
Make sure you are you. Personality and character is something MBDA look at when interviewing candidates. Also, make sure you can work effectively and well in a team.
