Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Training to be a Aldi driver.
The day is loading and unloading and delivering to store to make sure the shops keep a good quantity of items for Aldi customers. Daily health and safety checks.
Driving in a good and safe manner.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

When I am out driving I enjoy every minute.
Return for a secound run even loading it and then going back out. Didn't enjoy English and maths sat in a class room all day is not for me

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Loading of trailers. Daily checks of all equipment i use that day. Passing my class 2 so definitely driving a hgv. Scanning items to be delivered never used the hand held scanners before. Delivering to shops and how the work in store. Tacho graph I am still learning but getting there now we are using them everyday.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think it could be set out better at the beginning to let.you know what you need to work on first. But now English and maths as been taking out of the apprenticeship it gives you more time learning what you really need to be learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Got a lot.of support at the beginning becuase it was too much.
I have had help all way through my apprenticeship deputies have been great and Lizzi as been great organising everything.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Alot of help goes out of her way to try and help you when ever she can.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Been great helps a lot. Like I said they sort things out very quick so you do not feel stressed and are always there for you.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Aldi hold extra curricular and different times.
But I'm not a football fan.
