I am a Freezer Selector with ALDI RDC, I pick stock for the stores according to order. I am trained as a Auditor, Reach Truck Driver , Inbound Intake and as a Logistic Assistant. Accuracy and speed is the key target during the shift.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

In the beginning the programme was interesting. I took on the programme to help me step up to the next role. As I work nights, sometimes its a challenge to complete tasks and assignment, but I am trying my best to complete the programme to help me get my team leaders role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Last year when the warehouse had a change in technology, I got trained on the new AHEAD system that is scan and barcode system. I got trained in the last 6-8 months on the reach truck and learnt the system of put away pallets and check stock system using the scanning device.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The online learning and the workshop and the tutor review is helpful.
Unfortunately, I wish there was a better structure that the programme also provided the managers to follow to help with completing some tasks. I feel that there should be a guide created for mentors at workplace to help complete the programme. As some of the tasks and assignment given on the programme does not fit within the role of a selector in a warehouse.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

As I mentioned above, as the employers have no guidance and structure given to support the programme, it is hard for them to understand the programme. Plus as it is the first time for my mentor to support anyone with the programme, he is also learning as I am and understanding what tasks to set. But it would have been good if mentors had a guide and understanding of the programme before it was started.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Very helpful in training and providing the support. Explain well in what is required when submitting tasks. Workshop held are very helpful to understand the Modules, the online support is very helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Currently as a selector, it is helping me understand the role of a LEADERSHIP. Before getting the team leader role, this programme will give me an outline of what the role will be involved in and the responsibilities I will have to take on when I become a team leader.

It is a good company to develop a career in and work yourself up to progress within ALDI. As, it provides support and growth.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Its a hard working environment, but to have a good payable job, you have to be hard working and show your interest in growing with the business. Aldi is one of a fast growing company with new technology and new developments opening in a lot of areas. Its a fast and physically demanding company to work for, but you have to show you are capable to work under pressure and handle different tasks.
