Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an apprentice Quantity surveyor at marlborough highway. I am based in Garman road and i work on the Haringey contract. I assist the commercial team, this includes taking site measures, building accounts, looking at costs and assisting with the monthly application

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship, thats including the educational side which is my one day at university and my work environment is amazing. I work with lovely people that make make it enjoyable coming into work and the nature of what im doing really engages me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes i have developed and learnt many skills being here at marlborough. I have learnt how to pick up measures for completed schemes how to build accounts based on works we have done. I have also developed my communication skills as i have to speak to clients on a weekly basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Both components to my apprenticeship are structured very well and have put me in a position to do very well!

How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive the support i need from my organisation we have a wonderful team that dedicate time and effort to make sure we are not overwhelmed and we are achieving our targets

i have reviews which are very useful for my studies and i am offered additional support if need be.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it has helped me understand my role better as there are always lectures i can take directly and apply to my everyday tasks

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

there are many social events that are advertised and promoted. i also enjoy the volunteering opportunities we have, which help the local community. We have also hosted football events which have gone very well.
