Understanding the proposals and developing a project programme in collaboration with our supply chain to create a realistic and achievable yet challenging plan to deliver the project in the safest and most sustainable way, both economically and environmentally.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Absolutely love it! I think a degree apprenticeship is one of the best opportunities for young people - gaining hands-on experience and facing real life challenges and situations with guidance from professionals that want to see you succeed. All the while, earning good money and working towards a degree.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well organised yet agile. Our progression is reviewed quarterly (as a minimum) with our line managers where we can raise any concerns and identify any gaps in knowledge or experience to fill. The degree apprentices have oversight from our directors who help to make any necessary arrangements as required.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as you ask for really - we have a dedicated central learning team and people teams in each region who can help you find the best courses to further develop your skills and knowledge. Line management is also very supportive and project team members want to see you succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The quality of the education is generally good and tutors provide support when asked. Some lecturers are better than others but the university is open and receptive to feedback, and regularly ask for it from students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Some of the topics covered in university are not entirely relevant to my role but are still good to have an understanding of. There are some cases where the content covered in university doesn't always align with what happens in practice - but most tutors stay updated and informed.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Loads! Annual Dinners, Annual Trainee Away Days, Awards Ceremonies, Charitable Events such as races, hikes, boat races. Professional events like Trade Awareness (great way of networking with peers from across the business all over the country), Developing Leaders Conferences. Social Valuye events such as volunteering and fundraising, community engagement, etc.
