Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Admin work for transport. Investigating claims made by stores. Cross-departmental communication. Loader trained. Paperwork. Data filling.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the workshops and one-to-one learning. I also enjoy the shadowing and experiences of management as this is where I plan to go. Even if I wasn't planning on working my way up the ladder, it has been very insightful to understand what goes on behind scenes or deeper understanding of what management entails.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, different knowledge in people skills, how to manage difficult situations with skate holders, knowledge of different tools e.g. The Eisenhower Matrix, management styles I have also got to experience some of the management work that takes place in my department.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured with regular workshops each month with assignments following that are relevant to that course. I do think there could be more guidance or examples of portfolio work to understand more of what is expected.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer is always there to help when asked. I do find that we are in the process of initiating Ahead here and it has been difficult to squeeze in my course among normal job roles duties and training for Ahead.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The support is always there if asked and you get to know your direct coach enough to feel comfortable asking questions. Response times are fairly quick. Sometimes receiving feedback on your work can take over a week but can understand that lengthy essays for assignments can do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has made me understand peoples working styles differently and how people operate in leadership roles. It has also so far helped me develop my skills and the way I want to be perceived currently and if I want to take a next step into management.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I would not say this is currently available. But cross-departmental involvement can be available if asked.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel like I am working towards climbing the ladder and being taken seriously. I am not over-promised and spoken to in a way to get me to develop and reach for my high goals. I am supported and past working jobs did not support, so this is a nice change.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Be honest, display your skills and ask for opportunities to develop if reaching for management.
