Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work at Premier Inn as a housekeeper is to understand and read chemicals instructions, and to understand what the of the job brows are in cleaning? Being a housekeeper I have to keep the rooms clean and make sure they’re up to the grand standards of the hotel.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed doing the apprenticeship because I have learnt new skills along the way and having a tutor that Archie understands my way of writing. I’ve been able to try and learn how to do maths in a different way and having tutors that explain things better to me.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The new skills I have learnt while working with Premier Inn is how to de-scale their bathroom tiles and how to use them also how to get the mold off with a toothbrush which I didn’t think he could do, and how to set rooms how to do the folds on the bed

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It has been very organised some of it in the program I haven’t been able to understand, but speaking to somebody and the way they have explained it to me has worked better for me to understand what I need to do when it comes down to do in my work
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have had support from my employer on my friendship. They do understand where my difficulties are in doing some stuff, but they help work round things to make it easier for me and if I do get stuck, I can ask for extra help. I thought I would say they’ve been great.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received a lot of help from and other members of the Lifetime team to get me completed on my apprenticeship. If it wasn’t for them I don’t think I would’ve been able to do it. They have worked really well with me and they are great.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me the that understanding of what the brand standards are in the hotels and if I do go to other jobs, I can take it with me and show him that I have done this qualification. It gives me an opportunity later on if I wanted another job somewhere else.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We don’t have any extra social activities to get involved with at work, but we have done a teen building exercise with Premier Inn over in Folkestone with their member of staff so we could all do a teambuilding exercise together, but there is no other activities to do outside Premier Inn

Would you recommend Whitbread plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes I would recommend to a friend. They are a friendly bunch to work with we all get on together. If you need help from another member of staff, they will come and help you if you are struggling, the manager is great to talk to the receptionist, although if you need any help
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
That you have an open mind. Some people think it is easy to clean rooms and to make up the beds, which is hard work and to have a positive attitude when you apply or even after you’ve got the job, you go in with a positive attitude and give the staff respect
