Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role consists of hand on work with research. Daily, I am working on projects to help in developing my knowledge of the people and the product. It is extremely sociable and I feel confident speaking to and engaging with my team and beyond. I also feel very trusted.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love my programme. I enjoy work more than I ever thought I would. We are encouraged to learn and develop and I do not feel any pressure in my role. University is supportive and I would tell anyone who is thinking of applying to apply!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have been developing my social skills, presentation skills and research skills. I have been given opportunities to try to improve processes and I am encouraged to be creative and put forward ideas - even if they are not taken on board, I feel heard. I am learning how to adapt.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
We have placements that help us hit our KSBs. We have some freedom as to what we can choose for our placements so that we can develop in a work environment as well as within University. I feel confident that MBDA know what they are doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I feel that I can speak about anything and something will be done about it. With a lot of workload comes feeling of being overwhelmed etc. and when I express this, something is done about it to support me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We are given study days to help with are studies and to ensure that we are progressing effectively day-to-day. This is ideal as we are working a full-time job which some providers may struggle to understand. I think that the workload is definitely manageable with this support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that the things we are learning in University are relevant to our day-to-day jobs and I am constantly using what I have learnt. There is nothing that I have come across that I find not useful which can be rare in education settings.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a range of different networks that I can get involved in. There is a real sense of community and people are really encouraging. It is expected that you get involved with a network if you feel comfortable and it helps bring the best out in people.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend MBDA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think that we get treated incredibly well. The amount of opportunities we have been able to partake in has exceeded what I expected and this is exactly what I want from a job. I don't feel afraid to ask for what I want and there is more to come.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
Be yourself! The interview process was my favourite for MBDA as there were no technical questions. They look for your character and what you will bring to the table rather than the knowledge that you already have. This was perfect for me as I knew I could learn as I go.
