Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Creating social media posts and videos to drive clicks back to the BBC.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
A fair amount but as I am a staff apprentice I have to juggle a full-time job alongside the apprenticeship and this can be a rather large workload at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Video and graphic making. Plus interviewing and working with the public.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
PA do a great job at structuring the course around our exams, I would say that the communication is particularly good. However, it can feel like it's structured more towards the apprentices and the 4 of us 'staff apprentices' are left to catch up and we feel a bit left out.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
My manager has always been good pushing me forward for my growth. They have been very good at letting me go away for my classes however my role isn't always backfilled, meaning I have to work longer hours or can't take a break to ensure that all the work is completed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
They are very good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My writing has improved dramatically and I hope I will also gain more confident in my ability.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
no.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because I have really enjoyed working for such a big company - there seems to be a role for everyone and it's great to look at the bigger picture about what we achieve.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be yourself.
