Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as a team leader involves managing a team of Health advisors to be able to fulfill their roles to the best of their ability, getting the best from each individual whilst also ensuring they are giving the best care and service to the people of the North East

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the course, as it has allowed me to study around my normal duties whilst building new skills that will benefit my work and career

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills through my course, it has helped me identify strengths in individuals which can be utilised, and similarly it has helped identify weaknesses in individual and has given me great insight in how to manage this. It has also helped me develop previous skills and honed them.

The structure is very good and easy to follow and study

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have alot of support from my employer, manager and the facilitator for the apprenticeship who has been extremely supportive

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have alot of support from my training providor. I tend to email each month to advise where I am and we have 6 week teams catch ups

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel it massively helps my role as the course if very much aligned in the role I currently am in

Would you recommend North East Ambulance Service to a friend?

Yes

Why?

The apprenticeships on offer are excellent, with as much as support as you need and I feel I am supported all the way through. The courses on offer are relevant to my role and their is career progression from the courses as well as other course to do should I feel I would benefit from further courses

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to North East Ambulance Service?

I would advise to look into the different careers available at the ambulance service. There are a great many roles available with something to suit most people and plenty of support and training given on the job to ensure the person has all the correct skills to do their job
