About North East Ambulance Service

Providing life-saving patient care and support across the North East

We work across the region to provide emergency ambulance care and patient transport services. We also answer the NHS 111 non-emergency phone line, provide medical cover at events, and deliver first aid training to businesses and communities in the North East.

We cover the counties of County Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, and the boroughs of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.

We employ more than 3,000 people and respond to 390,000 emergency and urgent incidents each year.
