Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, I screen patients and book patients in for appointments, I dispense and quality control, adjust and repair spectacles. I scan letters onto systems and book appointments according to the diary we have set. I advise patients that orders are ready.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoying my programme very much and would like to learn even more and go onto the next course available when I feel ready. I am using my knowledge in every day life and working environment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my confidence skills, time management, organisation, communication skills, being able to plan my own workload, working as a team, hand eye coordination. I have learnt how to accurately measure and fit spectacles. I have also learnt how to problem solve and work independently to resolve issues.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well structured and organised to ensure that we are remembering all the information and being refreshed of anything that is vital to know. Everything builds upon each other and ensures all knowledge keeps building as the course goes on and that we are understanding everything correctly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot, my employer will talk me through anything I need and ensures we have enough time and are keeping up to the coursework well. He allows me to adjust my work tasks to meet my course assignments well and helps me further develop my knowledge and skills.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have been referred for a counselling session, as had a lot on personally. They contact me regularly to ensure that I am ok and that if I need any adjustments to deadlines, they can change these for me. They are really supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification gives me all the theoretical information I needed to ensure that I can use this within my role. My workplace is quite busy and due to old management I would be stuck in one room and not learning any father than I should be. Practical is work, theory is course.
