Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
General site maintenance. Electrical and mechanical work. Care of buildings. Repairs
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme. Each day is different and I am never in the same place at once. I am constantly improving myself and learning new skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Hand tool skills, electrical training, mechanical training, built my confidence

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Could be better. Would prefer more one-to-one training and a more specific plan about my future but the overall layout of the apprenticeship was has been good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Training courses are frequently offered. There are many avenues for me if I need support. I would just like a bit more clarity on what the future looks like for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a dedicated training manager who supports me with all aspects of my qualification. They are always available to answer any questions and they are in constant communication with me outlining what needs to be done.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Pretty well. The hands-on training in the first year at college helped to give me a basic understanding. I have then built on this prior knowledge with training in the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There is an ELS scheme where we get an allowance to choose from a range of activities and learn skills in this area. This is a great idea and gives you a chance to learn something new.
