Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is an apprentice and my job is to look after clients, make sure they’re comfortable and content while in the salon and assist wherever I am needed with the stylists. All while training to become a full time hairdresser

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills such as cutting, styling, colouring, perming and setting hair in the many different ways you can do in each area. I learnt all this for knowing nothing previously and I can do it to a professional standard.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured. The training is much greater than other places as long as you yourself are organised

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I know that they are always there for me if I need them and they look after as much as everyone else

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive as much help as necessary to get me to where I need to be in my apprenticeship. They show they care and go the distance for me to be the best

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I wouldn’t be able to do as good as I have without them. I knew none of my skill have now beforehand

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At least once a year our employers hold a night out for food and drinks of their own expense to show their appreciation for us. Their are many opportunities for us to take advantage of aswell such as London fashion well and extra training.
