Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Actively involved in live deals within my team with responsibilities that vary on case by case basis. Encouraged to take on work that I'm both confident in completing and that will further push my development.
Includes:
-reviewing legal docs
-structuring pricing
-involvement in credit process
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Love it. It's rewarding, challenging and offers clear career opportunities that were otherwise not available to me. I appreciate the programme will change from role to role but working in the CMM is great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Risk analysis, stakeholder management and creative writing are all instrumental to my role and something that I continue to learn and improve on daily/weekly. The role pushes self-accountability so I can develop these skills as much as I want

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Programme is thorough with regards to information but the connection between BPP/CBI/NW could be better - there's seemingly confusion on BPP's part that leaks into the other involved groups/
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Loads - team are very supportive and place emphasis on the importance of remaining on track. The early learning team are also proactive in arranging events to attend/seminars that offer further insights into what the bank does and the roles available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
BPP offer a lecturer who runs through each section and its thorough. They don't offer additional support which is disappointing. NatWest have an entire team dedicated to supporting apprentices and they're really engaged in what they offer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It's difficult to apply tangibly because its so subjective but the learning that comes from it is useful and presents new ways of considering how to approach my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Loads - it's what you make of it. You can be as involved/not involved as you like but there's lots available.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a morally conscious business that is going in the right direction with senior managers that have a clear vision. Buy-in from colleagues is noticeable and the reputation the business has in its field offers an element of pride
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Be personable. NatWest looks for potential in the individual + character. Robotic tick box scoring never felt constructive when it came to applying in my opinion. Demonstrate why your personality is a good fit.
