Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm a maintenance engineer. my role involves repairing any part of the machines at my factory that break down or requires frequent maintenance to continue to run as intended
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really really enjoy it mainly the practical but i do also really like the theory of how and why stuff does what it does.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Definitely even with doing engineering at schools my skill have vastly improved from then and i have also learnt some new skills like welding and electrics.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
the programme is very well organised considering the range of companies and diversity of people in my classes the programme covers all areas.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Literally any issue i have i ask for support and my employer is immediately on it to get it sorted for me or just give me the direct help i need with the issue. which is extremely helpful as an apprentice still finding my feet.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
they are also very good not as good as my employer but they are very supportive in helping in any way they can with issues i have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
its great starting off i wasnt sure i would need all of it but once i went back to factory i realised everything they teach is actually used at site so its been incredibly helpful in my role and i wouldn't actually be able to do my role with out the knowledge, skills and behaviours the programme has taught me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes my factory frequently does charity events and fundraisers, have have also got some sports events up coming for our factory to improve team building and morale, along with looking at trying to sponsor local sports teams. We are also STEM ambassadors which provides quality networking and encourages people to also join the industry.
