Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work with the new jaguar/land rover VB vehicles fitting and maintaining data collection kits into the vehicles to allow Nvidia to access, implement and test their autonomous features.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I absolutely LOVE the JLR/Warwick university degree apprentice program! I have gained many characteristics skills - working within team, networking - within the workplace, along with a slight obsession with my work projects! Warwick University gives me great knowledge on the theory behind my work too! and the pay is amazing :)

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Many! I have gained a great skill set with hand fitting techniques, the use of machinery and power tools for fitting the kits and prototyping fitting techniques, creating vehicle harnesses which involved soldering/crimping etc.
I am also in progress to developing my software knowledge by shadowing and practice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is okay, I attend university in block weeks which occur approximately every 5-6 weeks. This is okay however that one university week is very dense and stressful, 9:00-16:00 Monday - Friday! It also means that knowledge between block weeks. However weekly study days are implemented to create ease
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
More than I could ever ask for! My team and the company as a whole are very supportive, flexible and reassuring when I struggling at university, at home, or at work. They always ensure I get more than enough help with any issues I have :)
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I feel this is dependant on the module and lecturer... most of the time I will get all the support that I require and in short notice too, however some lecturers fall of the grid when trying to contact them after the block week when I have questions regarding assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Once again I feel this is subjective to the module. I have completed modules where it directly links to my work projects, such as CAD designing, and some modules that I have never used before. However It's good to gain an understanding in these other modules... but overall good!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Yes there are many societies and extra-curricular events to get involved in. However, I personally have not attended any of these as I am too focus driven on my university work and my work based projects. It can be difficult to balance work projects, university studies and outside activities.
