Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work in the Sports department of the BBC. I work both between the digital team and TV. This can mean anything from working on Live Sports Games in TV but also making social media content with athletes and pundits and also writing up articles for the website online.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy it there are plenty of opportunities.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have massively developed my editing skills and also camera work when it comes to making social media content.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Pretty well, I think we could be offered more training collectively and also have more of an idea of day-to-day job roles or ideas on what we are doing for that week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
A good amount. Although there seems to be little after the program ends support and not a lot of jobs to go into.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A bit. They prefer for us to not talk to one another and can be very strict, which can be difficult if you need to work together.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Not really at all.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not that I have come across yet. I know they hold a football game every Christmas once a year, but they only invites the males to par-take.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I really enjoy my placement there is so many different people who are kind and accommodating and willing to help you.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be yourself, which is advice everyone gives but its meant, in terms of speak about your interests and your hobbies and stuff like that because everyone has such varied backgrounds that you never know what they might be able to tell you about.
