Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Working on a daily radio show in a production assistant role, plus shadowing on projects that come up throughout the year.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Can't put into words how much I'm enjoying my programme, it's amazing!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes. My confidence and communications have grown so much since starting, and I have also picked up so many practical skills, for example I can now edit audio on two more softwares, can use more video editing software, basic skills in desk driving in studio etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
As well structured as it can be, depending on the team you're in and how far removed it is from your core team. There's enough flexibility as well to shadow with different teams, with your managers permission.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot! My manager is great and so supportive, and the team i've been in so far have been no different!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Can be a bit more difficult to liaise with training provider, and you can sometimes get different answers depending on who you ask. But they are always there to support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The training provider modules do help with wider understanding of industry outside of public service, but I wish it lined up more with what we're doing in work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Not quite as many in NI compared to Manchester and London, but there is definitely events to get involved in.

Yes
Why?

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be yourself - show your passion.
