Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently, my role is based in the Content discovery team so I complete ad hoc tasks based on marketing BBC Sounds such as writing pitches to Apple to support our podcasts and reviewing podcast trailers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people. I constantly get to work with new teams and I am given the opportunity to carve out what I want to get out of my apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learnt how to use industry standard technology and equipment. I have also learnt about etiquette in the working world such as how to construct an email.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The BBC side is very well organised. However, our training provider is less so and is not very good at communication.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support through constant contact and regular meetings.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I recieve some support although this is limited,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I do not feel that it helps as I learn more on the job and surrounded by my team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are social events for the apprentices and networking opportunities. Although, I would like there to be more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is an invaluable experience and they are a very trustworthy company that recognises you for your skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
I would say to be yourself and to not think of it as a big intimidating company. To try and connect with as many people as you can.
