5/5 - Skills Development
3.6/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I support on the QA testing and technical approval for new devices and software updates before launch. I also support on technical integration with partners and data analysis.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I find working at Samsung to be a pleasant experience - as with all companies you'd get occasional hiccups but there's never anything major that makes me dislike working there
University is alright - it is very similar to the normal uni experience but some teaching could be better

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've developed my communication skills and presentation skills as I've worked on and shared slide decks

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Samsung has done a good job with organising the program and showing you'll develop and progress on the scheme.
The university usually isn't very organised beyond onboarding in aspects such as timetabling, which can cause major confusion on your study day.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer supports me when I'm overloaded - i can have open conversations with my manager if I'm too overwhelmed and we usually find a way to figure things out
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training providers apprenticesip team provides good support in terms of explaining the apprenticeship logistics.
As lecturers, course leaders, and personal tutors may not have as much understanding of apprenticeships, they dont provide as much support as you'd need (we are treated like normal university students).
Other providers tend to teach apprentifes seeperately so they get the support and experience needed, and they can clearly see how their course links to their role.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
My course aligns with my job for the most part, which is good.
Some modules feel very useless, and it becomes hard to see how it looks to your job role. As apprentices are taught alongside full time students, its hard to see how the teaching links to different roles as its never discussed.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Samsung has a series of societies you could take part in - im not very aware of any sports teams but I know there's many talks to attend.

Yes
Why?
Its a great place to work, colleagues and managers are very understanding and open. You can always have a discussion with someone if you feel like you are struggling.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Samsung Electronics?
Be yourself, be open with people. Don't be shy - dont be afraid to try something new and talk about it
