Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i am a hairdressing apprentice assisting stylists and technicians on a day-to-day basis helping shampooing, toning, blow dries, taking off colours. i will also help get them more equipment and help with other clients they may have in. getting them more foil, gowning their next client up and mixing more colour up will ensure the clients appointment will run smoothly for the stylist and make sure thyey dont fall behind.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i really enjoy my job as i get to speak to the public daily always meeting new people doing what i love the most. i have always had a passion for hair ever since i was little so i am very excited to peruse what i enjoy the most. i also get to work with the most amazing and supportive staff members who have also really help me further perfect my skills teaching me tips and tricks every day.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt lots of new skills and techniques coming to Toni and guy from perfecting my blow dries and confidence in speaking to clients. i have been having once a week sessions in the academy with Alex passing off and perfecting colours and cuts and have also been having extra cutting sessions with Jon doing more intense and in-depth training even further perfecting my skills. having all this training has really helped with my confidence and how to approach and speak to clients regularly.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

my programme is very well structured and organised as we get a full day of training every week out of the 5 days were in the salon. it is always thorough and intense training testing our abilities and making us into stronger and better hairdressers. we have some of the best hairdressers in the country teaching how to cut hair and you always learn so much.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i always receive lots of support from my employer with everything such as training, extra training, sicknesses and help around the salon.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i always receive full support from my training provider as I'm always doing plenty of training inside the salon hours plus academy sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

my qualification helps me massively to perform to my full ability in my role at work as i have knowledge and understanding of colour and cuts to ever help any one out. it also helps me to speak to clients more to perfect my confidence once i become a stylist.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

yes there are lots of extra activities for all members of staff such as London fashion week opportuities, hair competitions, and extra hair courses.

because you get lots of training and also the full salon experience constantly helping others preparing you for once you become a stylist with amazing opportunities.

make sure you are willing to put the work and effort in and you will become the best hairdresser you can be.
