Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During my First year I spend 5 week blocks in my training provider and then two week blocks on site implementing my knowledge from the unit I have just finished over the 5 weeks, this is really effective way of learning and has benefited me tremendously.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme, everything is clearly layed out and communicated from my higher ups, this gives great transparently and allows me to feel in control of my apprenticeship.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt too many skills to list, from base engineering principles to advanced manufacturing techniques, every day is something new, working with some of the best in my field and learning from them on a daily basis.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Everything is clearly layed out and communicated from my higher ups, this gives great transparently and allows me to feel in control of my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from JLR, this includes having people I can talk to who work at my plant to also having a designated liaison working at Gaydon who I can contact regarding anything concerning me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support when in my training provider, all of the tutors are really knowledgeable and take care, JLR also has a personal lead within the training provider who we can approach with anything we need when in our training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The courses provided are really good and translate really well to when working on site, while there is a lot to learn it is quite easy to build upon what is taught within the training provider from experts on site who are easy to approach and always willing to share knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, JLR has social groups set up which host an event every few weeks, also during our time at the training provider we are given opportunity's to engage in extra activities during the year.

Why?
I really enjoy every aspect of my role, coming from a complete career change this has given me a chance really change every aspect of my life and I would recommend the opportunity to anyone looking for similar.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Be honest and be yourself, skills can be taught but what JLR are really looking for is you to show your character in both your cover letter and later stages of the application notice, give examples of how you embody the creators code and most importantly be brave, research the company and find a talking point to engage your interviewer.
