As an apprentice at JLR, I have started to shape knowledge, skills and behaviours of what it requires to be a maintenance technician at JLR.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the career change into engineering, JLR has helped me enable this change in my life and begin a lengthy career full of prosperity.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new skills in an engineering capacity. Working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems specifically.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

JLR enable MAKEUK which is the training provider to structure and organise our basis of learning over the next 4 years. In addition, we are able to move between modules spent at the JLR site and at MAKEUK.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

JLR early career cohorts and our line managers are in touch with us often, again making sure we are receiving adequate support.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Daily support is provided by MAKEUK and the tutors who will go above and beyond.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Everything we have learnt so far at our training provider has enable a basis of understanding for all eventualities we may experience in the role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have not heard of anything coming up directly but I am aware that JLR does offer such extra curricular activities away from work.
