Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Role differs every year as you complete different rotations are the finance function. Usually consists of a control, FP&A or business partnering role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I feel really comfortable within my roles and programme, everyone I have come across really wants you to feel like you fit in and to achieve what you want. The programme itself is well developed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Since starting at Tesco I feel I have been consistently gaining new skills, the teams I work with really help me to fit in and feel like I can shape my career in the way I want to. Further to this, I have been studying towards my CIMA professional qualification which contains so many new skills within itself!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
One the whole, the programme has clear structure and guidance around it. There have been a few teething issues which were resolved quickly and not major.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Any issues will always go to my line manager - who is extremely supportive. They then help me to ensure that I get the correct response and support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The courses itself through the training provider are extremely detailed and so far the tutors I have experienced have been knowledgeable and engaging. I don't have much communication with the training provider outside of this, however they make aware of ways to get support should I require.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is great and is really brought to life through the roles I complete. The qualification itself is well recognised and puts you in a great position for a future in a finance career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are some extra curricular activities throughout the finance function. It would be nicer to see some more events put on for apprentices (and graduates only), such as networking events etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Tesco plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Extremely supportive and can be yourself at work. EVeryone very friendly and wants you to do well.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco plc?
Just be yourself! I found that throughout all the interviews all they wanted me to do was to be myself so really make sure that it comes through. They are definitely looking to hire the person rather than qualifications/achievements.
