Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
cleaning rooms to company standard
putting deliveries away
comply with recycling regulations
interact with guests and help with queries
keeping public areas of hotel clean and clear
be able to check rooms to company standard
work within a team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
10/10. the programe was inbeatable, very indepth, the support system given through the training provider was unfaultable! always fighting for my suggest and going above and beyond to get me there. premier inn side was extremely lack luster, there was minimal to zero support unless i demanded it myself. and even then, it was not met for very long. doubtly, would i suggest this experience with to another team member but im sure with another company or different managers, it wouldve been a much better experience

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
how to manage
how to be a better support system
how to motivate a team
how to gove feedback constructively
how to share problems with and about the team
how to work more effective beside management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
extremely well. eveything is clear and dated, and the expectations are set straight away. all tasks that are needed to be complete within their time frames are labels and the supervisors tell you straight away, never have i been left waiting for an answer
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
very minimal. ive had to send multiple emails detailing my lack of support and ive felt they have been met with no substanial response or action. ive had to complete this apprenticeship almost souly alone at site. this is not an experience i expected from such company. i am sure the experience changes per manager, but all should understand whats expected of them when they have apprenices on site. if i am ever in the opportunity to be in their position, i would not have scted in the way they did. it leads me to not want to complete further education under this company.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
so much, at no piont did i feel i was asking too much or being a hindrance. ask questions and concerns were met professional and emotionally. answers were given, and if i had to wait a while, i was left in the know. i can’t fault the supervisor i have or the members of this company i interacted with. they fight for your suggest and it very shows
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
it’s given me a larger appreciation of what i do. by being experienced in the role above you, it changed your perspective on yours. i’ve started to adapt my work as though i work in that management position i’ve been training for. it’s made me able to help with team members concerns much better - having wider knowledge in how the company runs. and it’s helped me understand what makes me better at my job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
not particularly. but if there is a company wide event - we can get involved. last year, i ran along side others in the company for gosh. i wish there was more things to participate in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Whitbread plc to a friend?
No
Why?
my personal experience: no, the support is not there. they support your success but do not fight for it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
be able to be self motivating, if you want something be prepared to beg, fight, and ask. they with you to the bone, and you’ll be a great worker, but learn a boundary and don’t be scared to put your feet down
