Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since joining the BBC I have learnt a variety of business analysis skills. I recently had the opportunity to attend a 3-day training course, which has helped improve my knowledge of business analysis and key skills such as requirements gathering. I have also developed these skills through my university course, and improved my coding skills.

Structure and Support

My programme is well structured; I meet my line manager frequently throughout the week to discuss my ongoing work, have weekly team meetings, and I am given 1 day a week to complete my university work and lectures.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The BBC provide great support for any questions or concerns regarding the university work. We have scheme specialists who we meet with monthly and can ask any questions regarding the university work. Also everyone in my team is very supportive and willing to help if I have any questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I attended a block release at my university for 7 weeks for an introductory module to the course. This provided me with the basic knowledge and skills to begin the course. We now attend weekly lectures online and attend in-person study days every few months,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My university course allows me to learn a variety of business analyst skills which I can apply to my role, and help expand my knowledge of the discipline. It has also provided me with core coding skills which I am able to apply in my role to gain a better understanding of the projects which I am currently involved in.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The BBC have many clubs you can join, and there are lots of events held for apprentices and monthly social events. This allows me to meet new people and other apprentices who are on different schemes and have different jobs and roles within the business.
