Overall Rating

3.6 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

4/5 - Skills Development
3.2/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Collecting, inputting & manipulating data to create reports over each discipline (neonatal and pediatric)
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I overall enjoyed the program and being able to see the depth of what it takes to run a successful business. Some elements of it such as finance, are not applicable to my role so those assignments felt a little wasted but understand it has to be done.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes - I was able to learn new skills and develop current ones which I have been able to transfer into my new role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The overall organisation and structure of the program from CRC was faultless, everything felt very logical and the order in which I was assigned tasks flowed nicely.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I feel like my support from my employer was quite poor. Often we would book time to go through what I am doing or asking for help where their input was needed and these would just be ignored despite reminders. For example, just to get my witness testimonies completed took 8+ weeks and cutting it close to my completion date.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I felt that CRC and my assessor done a great job in providing training and knowledge throughout the course and were able to help me with challenges at work regarding the poor support from estates & facilities.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has helped me massively and just a few weeks after finishing the course I was able to apply for a more advanced role in Addenbrooke's and was successful - I feel my newly acquired qualification really helped with both my application, interview and practical test for this.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not that I am aware of.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS Cambridge University Hospitals to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall it was a good experience due to being given the chance to study. Departments vary from one another so finding the right fit is important I have learnt.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS Cambridge University Hospitals?
Speak with the employer during the application process. This way it can help you judge if it seems like a good fit for yourself before committing to anything.
