Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involved working in a lab and reception setting as well as taking me to various areas around the hospital. I was expected and required to perform testing on the body fluid and solid tissue samples that arrived in the lab. I was given freedom to do my job in the way that I wanted to with the option for help when I needed it from my co-workers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It was great fun. I would highly recommend it since it is a nice alternative to sitting in a classroom and learning. The tutors with the college were very supportive and always offered my 1 to 1s if I requested them as well as giving me plenty of time to do assignments. My manager at work was very helpful in providing extra study leave when I needed it for exams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a huge amount in this apprenticeship. My knowledge of various scientific subjects has been significantly increased as well as my knowledge of how hospitals function.

It was very organised and everything was laid out logically.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
very much in all aspects of the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
so very much and they always offered me extra meetings to talk about the work as well as extensions on the work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It did because of the health and safety knowledge I accrued from the apprenticeship which helped me to identify areas that needed addressing and carry out audits.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are many such as pub quizzes and work do's.
