Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role requires me to travel to different customer sites to deliver services. This can include repairing electrical units, carrying out preventive maintenance and commissioning new systems. This role demands good knowledge of power tools, equipment, and IT skills. Common day-to-day activities involves communicating with customers and site project managers of the tasks to be completed and what the best operational delivery practices would be for that job. Currently, I am working as a cooling field service representative and so I spend a great deal of time in data centers and buildings with data servers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am enjoying this program very much. This is because, through this program, I am able to quickly gain hands-on experience and knowledge from senior engineers about the systems I work with. Not only this, but I am able to actively use the content I study, with my training provider, onsite when carrying out a job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
By going onsite with other engineers, I have become more confident in using power tools and gained more knowledge as to how to efficiently use them to prevent damages to systems. I have also developed new skills such as: using software to carry out firmware updates on systems and how to carry out maintenance on cooling units. I have also developed personal skills such as communication and teamworking as this is a big part of our job role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
In my opinion this program is structured in a way so that all employees in this program have a smooth journey through their career. Although at times, it can be difficult to manage both work life with college studies, this company does everything they can to help you overcome these challenges.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. They are always ready to help you to the best of their ability no matter what the situation. They will always support you and provide feedback so that you can be the best at your job but also so that you can have a wonderful experience with this company.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive plenty of support form my training provider in order to achieve my best towards my qualifications. This is often achieved by placing regular, online one-to-one sessions where we can discuss about improvements made and receive feedback on how we can improve for the future.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel confident that the knowledge I have received and will receive from completing this qualifications can be used in my daily jobs. However I do feel that the content studied should be a bit more personalized to individual roles
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Within this company, they have many extra-curricular activities such as: Duke Of Edinburgh Award, Volunteering Days and many professional networking events with schools, colleges, and business. This company also has a graduate and apprentice society where we often get together to do fun quizzes, and causal chats.
