Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Surfacing operative. Started in the planer crew as a banksman. Then progressed to learn the level boxes on the planer. Now working In an iron work crew replacing & adjusting iron works. Also work In a chipping crew for hot roll & chips jobs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed the programme. The assessor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was great.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills on the course which will help me within my Job roll. Including different techniques for different jobs & how to use different pieces of machinery.

The Assessor always made sure we were doing something each week practical work.
