Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Within my role I analyse KPIs of the business, provide reports for the leadership team. I also fill in cash sheets and import them into the accounting system while also processing invoices and matching these to required GRNs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme with Westmorland Family. There is so much support within my team to help me do well and also the support available at college to ensure we do our best is really helpful.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

One of the main skills I have developed through my apprenticeship is my ability to use excel and also developing my knowledge of VBA codes and SQL coding. New skills I have developed through my apprenticeship include calculating and accounting for depreciation, understanding VAT and different rates of VAT.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well structured, I can see a clear plan for my learning and can see so many opportunities for development within my role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support I receive from my employer is unmatched. Time is always made if I feel unsure about anything either within work I've done at college or new tasks within my development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Kendal College provide us with loads of support, my tutor is always available to go through anything we didn't understand and provides us with everything we require to help us do our best in exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps me to perform better within my role as it trains me on how to do something then I can come into work and apply that knowledge to a new task hence developing my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have social gatherings through Christmas parties, meals out as a team and we have a summer brief where we all gather to see how the year has gone as a business.

The company is very supportive in setting people up with a job for life by providing loads of opportunities to develop. Also the company offers a very good benefit package.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Westmorland Family?
Make sure to make it aware that you are looking for progression as if not it may be difficult to accomplish however if you make it known they will try there best to support your dream. If you work hard you will be rewarded.
