Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The paramedic apprentice program is a role where i attend all training sessions with Neas and Teesside University. When on placement I’ll work with a senior paramedic mentor when I’ll be able to perform my skills under supervision
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The program is absolutely amazing. Give me chance to learn new skills and become a paramedic while I get paid. All this allows me to look after my family while working towards a paramedic degree.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have enhanced new skills like:
Communication with patient, clinical skills, treatment skills, patient care, team work, patient centred care.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The paramedic apprentice program allows me to have study day, attending placement shits, attending training days at university and also north east ambulance service training center, simulation days along other emergencies services ( fire brigade, hospitals)
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Trainers and manganent team are always ready to support me when I need. They organise study days and numerous 1:1 session in order to achieve academic and practical development.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training provided and the placement shifts allows me to learn new skills and the fact that I always have an allocated tutor make me feel safe to perform my skills on a daily basis

There are opportunities to attend sports events and cpd day throughout the year.

Why?
As a program is well structured and give the opportunity to develop new skills while having a full wage every month.
The 3 years training includes a lot of practical skills development and academic development.
I feel extremely lucky being part of this amazing program and I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to become a paramedic.

Go for it!!!
