Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I provide help and support within my team to head office and also to colleagues across all branches. I deal with suppliers and assist with ordering merchandise. It is my responsibility to provide excellent customer service skills to suppliers, customers and colleagues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my apprenticeship because I had support from my manager and tutor to help me complete it. My lessons with my tutor were very knowledgeable and engaging which made the lessons enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Helping our new apprentice with tasks and settling in I was able to develop my managing skills and develop my time management skills as I had to manage dealing with my own work but also ensuring I was spending enough time with the apprentice so they could learn new skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship was very well organised and structured. I had regular learning sessions with my tutor and regular updates with my tutor and manager to track my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received support from my manager who helped my achieve my tasks by giving me tasks and responsibilities to complete which would help towards my assignments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received great support from my training provider. She was always willing to help and went went above and beyond to ensure I would pass my apprenticeship. If I had any questions or concerns she was always supportive and helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Through my apprenticeship I now know more about business and what it takes to be a successful business. Knowing this information now I can apply my knowledge into my job role to perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes I have been involved in school events which involved myself and colleagues going to primary and secondary schools to discuss who are Bagnalls and to challenge stereotypes within the painting and decorating industry.
