Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role within my company is that of a designer. I help within the project I am currently working on by completing structural and civil analysis of different elements within the building we are working on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it fully as it is the sector I wanted to go into. By being on this programme that Mott MacDonald has set up it allows me to get my degree whilst also learning handy work place skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been able to work on my overall communication skills a lot more as well my team working. Mott MacDonald has helped with this in both project work and setting up opportunities to meet others and work with them.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I am able to easily follow along with regards to what the university and Mott MacDonald expect and want from me in terms of my behaviour and work. I am well informed in this area.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am made sure that I understand as to what work I must undertake with regards to the project work that I undertake and have check ins with the necessary people to make sure that I am getting along fine.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have been given significant help by my employers when it comes to getting my qualifications as they help me if I am stuck and I know that I can ask if needs be for some help with finding the correct resources to further increase my knowledge within any work that I undertake towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am better able to understand the work I undertake on a daily basis as well as better be able to apply my knowledge within the work. This is directly linked to the qualification that I am being pushed to complete by my company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of hosted events that Mott MacDonald push everyone to attend if possible. This vary from social activities that are monthly or annually to networking events for different sectors who are in similar stages to you career wise or taking the same route.

Why?
I feel that Mott MacDonald are very accommodating and help with making you into a better member within the sector of work that you undertake. As well as that, they make sure that everyone is able to work at there highest standard and make sure that you understand as to where you can go for help. They also push for you to increase your soft skills and will help with facilitating your growth effectively.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?
I would say make sure that you are honest with yourself and the company and properly convey as to what level of skill you have as if you say your the best at everything then the company can not effectively help facilitate any personal growth you may be looking to gain.
