Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a quantity surveyor and day-to-day I am procuring subcontracts, managing budgets, managing subcontractors and/or clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really enjoy my programme, I am personally not a fan of the university side of things as I feel like I learn 90%+ of my knowledge at work, instead of the university as it isn't specific to the jobs I do day-to-day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed my communicating skills to a higher level as it is required to communicate well with subcontractors/clients in this field of work. Also, my excel ability has increased a lot.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I feel like my development was structured correctly i.e. not being chucked in at the deep end. I feel like my employer gradually introduced me to harder work at the right time. In terms of university, I struggled seeing how a lot of the content could be applied to real work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I feel like there's always someone to get support from in Vinci whether that be my line manager or the HR department.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Not a lot whatsoever, the content is outdated and not specific, the organising of lectures is poor and the reply times back from the uni (lecturers/HR) is severely lacking. I do not have a lot of good things to say about my university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Not a lot, I feel like you would easily get by in this field of work without a degree, I'm not sure why you need one for this line of work. The content is outdated and not specific therefore it cannot be applied in real work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are networking events that I enjoy. On my old project, we did regular 5-aside sessions.
