Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a civil engineer you will be working on projects set to you by your project manager. So every working day you will be working with a team within that specific project working on the tasks set to you by the lead of that team until you get put onto another project and so on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It's definitely more stressful than normal school as there's a lot more you have to keep track of and much more responsibility than normal university however I don't dislike the challenge as I know it will become a very useful skill in the future.I enjoy moments when I complete something difficult or I'm finally on track as it shows I've grown.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have definitely developed all my existing basic skills such as communications, organisation, leadership as you are required to step up to your role within the project and what is expected out of you however it isn't overwhelming as they take into account where you are and challenge you appropriately. In terms of new skills designing on software that the projects use is a skill that you learn as you carry on working on the project

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very organised as there's lots of information and resources specifying certain details that might be unclear to you. There's also nothing to complain about the structure of the programme as everything they have implemented makes sense.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of supports from my employer as there's lots of emphasis on relying on your seniors for help and they provide us with lots of documents and resources regarding the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider also gives us lots of support as you are required for a monthly check up with a teacher to track your progress, you can also use these sessions to ask the teacher for any support or questions you may have. They also have a large database of information and guides to also help you with queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Currently as I'm only in my first year it isn't much help to me with my role at work however I imagine as I move on to more complicated topics it'll provide me with more understanding of the project I'm working on
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are sports clubs, social activities after work and many more. They also provide volunteer work such as helping at food banks, or helping out at a school.
