Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm a level 3 Civil engineering apprentice and currently, I work within the 'Buildings South' team where I work on projects that involves me working with drawings where I'm tasked with modelling, creating sheets, assisting on reports on drawings, and making adjustments based on feedback from mentors.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
8 times out of 10 I'm very interested in the work I do. While minimal, there can be times where things can feel a bit boring or stressful but that's always inevitable in life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed new skills and improved on old ones. For example, my apprenticeship has helped me to learn how to effective manage work loads, how to use different software, It's even helped me become more independent in how I figure new things out.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme if very well structured, I'm always aware on where I'm going and if I'm not, mentors at work or at college are helpful in explaining to me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive great support from my employer when comes to learning or even with reassurance.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Whilst there have been complications with mentors at college, I would say that say the support is pretty good for the most part
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I personally feel like the content I'm given at College are very useful information to have as a future civil engineer; however, I don't feel like it helps me perform better at work. At least not by a lot.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I'm involved in a programme called 'Inspiring Engineers' where me and other colleagues travel to a college once a week to mentor students on a civil engineers world of work.
